Usually we don’t eat because “DaG” (fish) is similar to “DaaGa” (worry)
But about Shabbat it says:
“Whoever eats fish on the seventh day (Shabbat) will be saved from the judgment of Gehinnom.”
The Hebrew phrase is:
האוכל דג ביום ד״ג ניצול מד״ג
Ha’ochel dag b’yom D”G, nitzol mi-D”G.
It is a clever wordplay:
דג (dag) = fish.
ד״ג = ד׳ + ג׳ = 4 + 3 = 7 → the seventh day, Shabbat.
The final ד״ג is understood as דין גיהנם (Din Gehinnom) → “the judgment of Gehinnom.”
